If you get up to make a sandwich for one child, it would be wise to ask if anyone else wants one. Otherwise, you may find yourself getting up, getting all the sandwich supplies out, making a sandwich, putting all the stuff away and wiping the counter, 3 additional times. Trust me, I know.

ReplyDeleteOh, I understand! Therefore, when I slip a snack or treat to one child without alerting the others, they know to hide in the pantry or the bathroom to eat it. I don't ever ask them to deceive their dad, but to keep a secret from their siblings is just a fleeting moment of thrill for them.
